Cephalotes Ants have a Heavy Sclerotized Exoskeleton and are characterized by a Shield Like Head that the workers use to arrest the access to their nest and by the short-clubbed antennae. Their nests are placed in pre-existing plant cavities. The grotesque morphology of the Cephalotes ants fascinated people of different epochs and cultures, aerial view of one of the lines of Nazca (Peru) represents a Cephalotine ant.
