Rove Beetles are more or less elongate with Short Elytrae that leave various abdominal segment exposed. Their body is flexible and when running they frequently raise the tip of abdomen. Staphylinidae are active fliers, most species are predaceous.
This specimen belonging to the Subfamily Paederinae is characterized by the slender, elongate, parallel sided body, the threadlike antennae, the head narrowed behind and the front tarsi densely hairy.
