Most species of Adult Paussinae are accepted in the ant society, are fully integrated into the ant colony and are treated as appreciated guests by the ants. In this symbiosis the beetles provide rewarding chemical secretions to their host ants and in return receive protection, a safe place for their larvae to develop and a stable source of protein-rich food: the ants, particularly the brood. Paussinae living in ant nests have elaborate antennal structures and body parts flattened.
This beautiful inclusion has incredibly large, flattened antennae forming a ring and each antennomere is somewhat broader than large.
